TRAIN / RAIL -
We have two rail lines in Catalunya. The Ave high speed dedicated train line, and the regular train line.
Girona Train Station - 15 minute drive from Casa Nova Girona. Ideal for a day trip on either the high speed Ave/Avant train or the MD or Regional trains into Barcelona. Also a destination for the TGV/AVE high speed train from France, or from the south, Barcelona, Tarragona or further afield, Madrid, Malaga.
Caldes de Malavella, 17455 - to the south east of the masia, is also a 15 minutes drive; Ideal for the MD and Regional trains into Barcelona, many car parks.
Figueres High Speed Train Station - is 30 minutes to our north; ideal for a TGV/AVE connection from France.

AVE / Avant - high speed train. No stops, direct Girona to Barcelona Sants, approx 38 minutes.
MD and Regional trains on the regular train line - R11 starts at Portbou in the north and from Girona going south stops at Fornells, Riudellots, Caldes de Malavella, Sils, Maçanet then onto the R2 line running into Barcelona (no train change), Granollers, Passeig de Gracia to Barcelona Sants. Journey times from 60 minutes to 95 minutes, Girona to Barcelona.
(Please note that the Ave and Avant train is the same train; the Avant is the local ticket for a mid distance journey on the high speed train; Avant is usually the cheaper ticket price.)
